Rent an RV for Oswego Harborfest

Oswego Harborfest runs July 22 to 25, 2027 on the Lake Ontario waterfront. There is no camping at the venues, so book a campground and your RV together.

Where to Park an RV for Harborfest in Oswego, NY

Pick Up in Hornell, Drive About Three Hours

Oswego is roughly 120 miles and two hours fifty minutes from our lot in Hornell, and closer to three and a half in a loaded motorhome with a stop. You collect the unit, we hand over the keys and walk you through the water tanks, propane, battery and generator, and you drive it north to whichever campground you booked.

The Festival Has No Campground

This is the fact most pages get wrong. Breitbeck Park, Cahill Pier, Washington Square and the Water Street Pocket Park are city parks spread across downtown, and none of them take campers. The closest option is Oswego Speedway at 300 E. Albany St, about a mile from the waterfront and an official festival shuttle stop, which sold Thursday-to-Sunday camping at $100 in 2024. Book that or a campground first, then call us at 607-663-0591.

Our Manager and the Finger Lakes Team help renters plan Harborfest weekends in Oswego, and the question we hear most is where to park the RV. Harborfest spreads across the downtown waterfront and has no festival camping, so book a campground in the Oswego area ahead of time and treat it as your base. Rather than driving a large rig into downtown traffic, use the free lot at Romney Field House on the SUNY Oswego campus, where a shuttle runs to Breitbeck Park and the other venues. Saturday brings the biggest crowds and the fireworks over Lake Ontario, starting around 9:15 PM, so give yourself extra time that evening.

Why Rent an RV for Oswego Harborfest?

107,000 people came through in 2026, and 65,000 of them on the Saturday alone, into a city with four hotels on the official lodging list. SUNY Oswego opens its residence halls to the public for the weekend, which tells you everything about how tight beds are. What an RV solves here:

  • Two camping options exist in the whole city, so booking a rig with a campground reservation beats competing for a hotel room
  • Oswego Speedway is about a mile from the waterfront and sits on the festival shuttle route
  • Coleman's Campground on NY-104 has full hookups with water, sewer and 20, 30 or 50 amp electric
  • The state parks at Selkirk Shores and Fair Haven Beach are cheaper but electric only or mostly dry, and their generators may run only 9:00 to 11:00 am and 5:00 to 9:00 pm
  • Admission is free, so the money goes into where you sleep rather than tickets

Tanks arrive full and the propane too, included. That matters most at a state park where the site has no water of its own.

Do We Deliver to Campgrounds Near Oswego?

Our delivery list covers Watkins Glen KOA, Keuka Lake State Park, Letchworth State Park and Finger Lakes RV Resort. Oswego is outside that list and delivery there is not something we can confirm here. [VERIFY: does Finger Lakes RV Rentals deliver to Oswego-area campgrounds, and at what fee?] The pickup route:

  1. Book your campground first. New York state parks open reservations nine months ahead, so for late July 2027 that window opens around October 2026.
  2. Reserve the unit with us and tell us where you are staying.
  3. Pick up in Hornell, where we go through tanks, propane, battery and generator with you.
  4. Park the rig at the campground and leave it there for the weekend.

Do not drive the RV downtown. Free parking is at the Romney Field House lot at SUNY Oswego, and a $5 shuttle button covers all four days, cash only on board. Lake Street, the road to the main stage, closes at 6:00 pm on the Saturday until after the fireworks clear, and downtown no-parking enforcement with towing starts on the Thursday. One more trap: a major directory lists Coleman's at a 30-foot maximum while the operator's own booking system shows back-ins to 55 feet. Phone them before booking anything long.
