Rent an RV for the New York State Fair

The fair runs August 25 through Labor Day, September 6, 2027, in Syracuse. All 313 full-hookup sites sold out in 2026, so plan your dates early.

Pick Up in Hornell, Drive to Geddes

The fairgrounds sit at 581 State Fair Blvd in Geddes, just west of Syracuse, about 114 miles and two and a half hours from our lot in Hornell. Allow closer to three hours in a loaded motorhome with a fuel stop. You collect the unit, we walk you through the tanks, propane, battery and generator, and you drive it up.

Know Which Campground You Are Booking

There are two, and they work nothing alike. The full-hookup park books only as one 17-night block through ReserveAmerica, at $628 a site plus a $7.25 fee, with no discount for a shorter stay. The daily dry lot books night by night at $27.24 through etix.com. Both opened at 9:00 am on the same May morning in 2026. Decide which one you want before booking the RV, then call us at 607-663-0591.

Our Manager and the Finger Lakes Team help renters plan State Fair stays in Syracuse, and the question we hear most is about hookups. At the fairgrounds RV park, some hookup points are not right next to your site, so pack an extra water hose and a power extension rated for your rig. Keep cords out of any path where vehicles drive or park, or fair officials will have them disconnected. Your RV needs its own holding tanks, and each reserved site allows one RV and one extra vehicle, so leave the second car at home or plan to park it elsewhere. The lots are close together, so quiet hours from midnight to 7 AM are taken seriously.

Why Rent an RV for the New York State Fair?

Thirteen days of fair, a campground on the grounds, and only about 100 daily sites once the 313 full-hookup spots are gone. That scarcity is the whole argument. What an RV changes here specifically:

  • The full-hookup park includes two fair admission passes with the site, so the camping fee is not purely lodging
  • The daily lot has no water, electric or sewer, which in late-August heat makes generator and battery capacity the deciding spec
  • Generators are expressly allowed in the daily lot, so you can run air conditioning through the afternoon
  • Gates close to entry and re-entry at 9:00 pm, so your kitchen and bathroom on site beats a late drive out for food
  • Daily sites are 20 by 40 feet and that 40 feet holds the RV and your car, or the car pays for public parking

Every unit leaves with water and propane already loaded, no charge. That counts for far more in the daily dry lot than in the hookup park.

Do We Deliver to the Fairgrounds in Syracuse?

Four locations take our deliveries: Watkins Glen KOA, Keuka Lake State Park, Letchworth State Park and Finger Lakes RV Resort. Delivery to the fairgrounds campground is not something we can confirm here. [VERIFY: does Finger Lakes RV Rentals deliver to the NYS Fairgrounds RV park, and at what fee?] The pickup route works like this:

  1. Book your campsite first, through ReserveAmerica for full hookups or etix.com for the daily lot.
  2. Reserve the unit with us and tell us which lot you got.
  3. Collect in Hornell, where the handover covers tanks, propane, battery and generator.
  4. Drive to Gate 7, which is the entrance all RV park vehicles use.

Two things renters miss. The full-hookup park warns that the run from your camper to the hookup hub can be long, so bring extra hose and cord and check what your rental includes. And awnings, slides and extensions must leave five feet of clearance from the edge of your site, which is a real limit for a wide rig even when the length fits. Check our current nightly rates before you commit to thirteen days.
